Models: Various Buckle Brands
Kolbyn: Brandy Melville & Sanuk

This week is the most hectic week I think I ever experienced in my college career thus far. I currently have one finished project and four under way. Today, my focus was on the most fun assignment/project I think I have worked on. I am creating a lookbook for my Retailing class. The project consisted of creating a brand concept and getting into the top 12 out of 50 in the class, of which, I respectively, was a number 5. My concept was Push Earth Co., and that is not coincidental that that is also the name of my blog. Being chosen means that I am a manager and had to 'hire' three other people to be my assistant manager and employees. We created a financial plan for the business, including contacting a real estate company about rent for a store space. For the lookbook, we had to get clothing loans from stores. The clothing we chose represents my brand concept and the whole idea behind it, which is comfort, loose-fitting, sustainable materials, and overall, a natural feel. We 'hired' a male and female model, also known as two of our friends, Angie and Alec, for our two required looks. They had instant chemistry in front of the camera. It was an amazing experience. Push Earth Co. is something that I think I could really work towards. I really want to push the idea of sustaining the Earth onto consumers. One of my main goals is to make some sort of a difference in the way people choose to dress. I want people to express their true selves through dress, and do it in a natural way. Push Earth is my starting point to this goal. We have a lot of editing to do before the lookbook is complete, and we hope to submit it to an annual competition that Kansas State holds. Wish us luck!
