I have recently been exploring the world of fashion photography due to a project for my merchandising class. For the project, I have to create a magazine complete with advertisements, articles, an editorial and a color or trend report. I decided that I wanted the majority of the pictures in the magazine to be mine just because I like the feeling of exactly knowing where everything came from. The title of my magazine is nonetheless, Earth Expression. It would ideally be a magazine for the wild-spirited at heart. I had three photo shoots, of which three slideshows are below. The first shoot was of Kiana. The idea behind her shoot was adding edge to a bohemian look. The photo story shows a transition from natural tones and a peaceful setting to darker colors and concrete walls. The second shoot was of Maggie and Catie. Being two of my sorority sisters, I decided their spread would focus on relationships with lots of adventure. We took the photos in the Konza Prairie; it was the first time being there for all of us and it was beautiful. They turned out being my large editorial and cover of my magazine. The third and final photo shoot, with Karson and Colin, was also about relationship. Their shoot was focused more on fun and spontaneity. Throughout all of this, I discovered that I really like taking photos that showcase clothing and adding a little bit of my own perspective and personality in each shot. It was so much fun and I look forward to doing more things like this with a really fancy camera.

I plan on putting the PDF of my magzine on here as soon as it is 100% complete. It will also be on my online portfolio so if you really want to see it, contact me for that link.

A huge thanks to my models (and friends) Kiana, Maggie, Catie, Karson, and Colin. You all rock and should be professionals!
